After the line was abandoned in 1988, the Lynn Valley Trail Association (LVTA) was formed to preserve the corridor for public use.

- [The Third Season of Song: Insects](https://lynnvalleytrail.com/news-and-events/the-third-season-of-song-insects/): By Mary Gartshore The frogs finished singing back in July, and most songbirds have stopped singing—except for year-round residents such as the Northern Cardinal and Carolina Wren. Now, the crickets, katydids, and cicadas are engaged in the third season of song. I will focus on katydids. The natural corridor along the Lynn Valley Trail offers excellent habitat for all of our singing insects, offering both photography and sound-recording opportunities to visitors. - [New Gates on the Lynn Valley Trail](https://lynnvalleytrail.com/news-and-events/new-gates-on-the-lynn-valley-trail/): As spring approaches, the Lynn Valley Trail Executive and Directors are planning a variety of 2024 projects to improve the trail. One important project is replacing the gates. The nine existing gates will be removed and replaced with standardized 14 foot tubular steel assemblies. The passage opening will be set at 39\” to allow wheelchairs, scooters and bicycle child trailers to pass through easily. Several entrance points will be upgraded by widening and levelling the area with limestone screenings.

- [Memorial Bench in Honour of Marion Lindsay](https://lynnvalleytrail.com/news-and-events/memorial-bench-in-honour-of-marion-lindsay/): Simcoe residents, Bob and Marion Lindsay were active trail hikers and members of the Lynn Valley Trail Association for many years.  After Marion’s passing in 2016, Bob and his family decided to donate a bench to the Lynn Valley Trail in memory of Marion, his wife of over 60 years.
